Judge Seeks Re-Election

Michigan Appeals Court
Judge Michael J. Kelly has
announced his candidacy
for re-election.
Last Week, Judge Kelly
became the first judge in
Michigan and one of only 28
in the U.S. to have earned a
master of laws degree in the
judicial process. He earned
his degree at the University
of Virginia School of Law at
Charlottesville.
Judge Kelly serves in
Michigan s second appellate
district, which includes
Oakland, Macomb and 12

and the Michigan Judges

Association.
Kelly is on the board of
advisers of the Saint Vin- -
cent and Sarah Fisher Cen-
ter in Farmington Hills. He
also is vice president of
Boysville in Clinton.

18 years prior to his elec-
tion to an eight-year term

graduated from the Uni-
versity of Detroit .Law

general and taught at
Walsh College.
Kelly currently is chair-
man of the Michigan Judi-
cial Tenure Commission,
which oversees conduct of
the state's judges.
