The organization RAV-

has announced that it is

partment for his work on
the synthesis of large,
ring-shaped organic
materials and. the study
of the transport of ions
through the membranes
of living cells.
The E. D. Bergmann
Award was given to Dr.
Michael Levitt of the chem-
ical physics department for
his studies of the conforma-
tion and structure of mac-
romolecules.
And the M. Levinson
Prize was awarded to Dr.
Mordehai Milgrom of the
nuclear physics depart-
ment, for his work on the
emission of spectral lines
with changing
wavelengths.
LOS ANGELES — Mem-
bers of the Jewish Defense
League (JDL) forced actress
Jane Fonda to drop out of an
11-mile march marking Is-
rael's 34th anniversary on
May 16. -
A small group of hecklers
from the militant organiza-
tion began harassing the ac-
tress as the march began.
The JDL members charged
that Miss Fonda, a well-
known friend of Israel, sup-
ported the Palestine Libera-
tion Organization and they
raised signs reading "Fonda
is a knife in Israel's back."

NEW YORK — If Diana,
Princess of Wales, gives
birth to a boy this summer,
the infant will probably be
circumcised, according to
Parade Magazine.
The princess is due to give
birth July 1 and prelimi-
nary tests indicate that the
baby will be male. Although
it is unsubstantiated, many
British people believe that
all males born into the royal
family are circumcised by
