U.S. Action Organization Urges Protests
Against Impending Dangers to Israel

Warning of impending
dangers stemming from
U.S. pressures on Israel, an
Israeli and an American ac-
tion team this week urged
organized protests to pre-
vent calamities.
Shmuel Katz, an Israeli
publicist who withdrew
from an official role in the

Menahem Begin govern-
ment, and Peter Goldman,
newly appointed executive
director of Americans for a
Free Israel, were here over
the weekend as guests of
Arnold and Janet Aronoff
and a group of' prominent
Detroiters, to advocate or-
ganized action and avoid

growing crises for Israel.
Katz, who was a member
of the first elected Israel
Knesset, was the Minister
of Information in the
Menahem Begin Likud gov-
ernment when it was first
elected. Shortly before the
Camp David meetings, he
resigned as a protest
against any concessions
contemplated by the visit to
Jerusalem of Egyptian
President Anwar Sadat. He
organized protests against
the recent withdrawal from
'Sinai and foresees even
greater dangers for Israel,
now that the withdrawal is
complete.
The least Israel could
have done, he said, was to
retain the air bases and
the border settlements.
Now, he contends, Hosni
Mubarak is returning to
the Arab fold, the situa-
tion is becoming more
menacing, and even at
this point he would "ab-
rogate the Camp David
Agreement."
