Norman Allan is a
gemologist with a reputa-
tion of having left the im-
print of his career in the
course of travels and global
interests.
His major role, however is
in his volunteerism for
every cause of merit, with
emphasis on the cultural
and Israel.
On his 70th birthday, on
Monday, among the chief
interests of the distin-
guished Detroit Jewish
leader will by the estab-
lishment, in which his wife
Esther joins him, of the

affirms the following as
his guidelines:
"It is my hope to continue
establishing educational
facilities for Jewish boys
and girls from elementary
school through college, Col-
lege of Law, College of
Medicine, College of Dentis-
try, etc. I feel learning is the
principle that has kept our
heritage alive and ever
growing these many
thousands of years."
In the intimacy of family
jubilation on Norman Al-
lan's 70th birthday, the
greetings are already in-
numerable. If a party were
given in his honor on an ex-
tensive basis, the size of the
hall would be in question. If
a delegation were to be in-
vited from every organiza-

PHILADELPHIA (JTA)
— A neo-Nazi and a racist
both wound up last in their
respective races in last
week's Democratic primary
bid for the governorship and
a seat in the state legisla-
ture.
Eugene Knox of Shamo-
kin, known for his vitriolic
anti-Semitic attacks, re-
ceived slightly more than
56,000 votes out of some
695,000 cast, to finish
fourth in a field of four.
Knox once took out ads in a
Shamokin newspaper ad-
vocating that all Jews be
moved to Montana.
Warren Smith, a member
of the neo-Nazi National
States Rights Party and a
former Grand Dragonof the
Pennsylvania Ku Klux
Klan, drew fewer than 400
votes in his quest for a legis-
lative seat from Bucks
County, near Reading, to
finish last in a field of six.
