The Jewish National
Fund will pay tribute to Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Laker, this
year's honorees at the JNF's
annual testimonial dinner,
by establishing the Harry
and Sarah Laker Forest in
the American Independence
Park in Israel. The Lakers
will be honored June 16 at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
The American - Indepen-
dence Park, located in the
Judean Hills 13 miles out-
side of Jerusalem, was dedi-
cated July 4, 1976, to honor
America's Bicentennial.
The 50,000-tree Laker For-
est is one of many in the
park which have been
named for distinguished
community leaders from all
over the United States.
The Lakers have served
in the Pinsker Progressive,
Aid Society for 50 years,
with Laker serving in his
sixth term as president.
They also have been affil-

iated with the Hebrew Be-
nevolent Society, Histadrut
and the Labor Zionist
movement. They have long
been members of Cong.
Beth Achim.
Their son, Irving, is
chairman of the Laker tes-
timonial dinner committee.
Guest speaker at the
dinner will be Dr. Samuel I.
Cohen, JNF executive vice
president. For information,
