Scholar Weekend in Grand Rapids

a.m. Saturday services on
"Jewish Prayer Through
the Ages."
There is a luncheon at
noon and study session at
1:30 p.m. led by Dr.
Petuchowski. Minha serv-
ice will be at 7:15.
An interreligious sym-
posium will be held at 8 p.m.
on "Synagogue and Church:
The Early Centuries." Par-

ticipants will include Dr.
Petuchowski, Dr. Bastiaan
Van Elderen of Calvin
Theological Seminary and
Dr. Otto Grundler of West-
ern Michigan University.
Dr. Phillip Sigal of Ahavas
Israel will be moderator.
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday,
there will be a brunch
hosted by the synagogue
men's club and sister-
hood. Dr. Petuchowski
will speak on "Prayer
and the Modern Jew."

form in recital 7 p.m. May
26 at Hammell Music Reci-
tal Hall, Livonia.

Ten of Mrs. Behar's stu-
dents will participate in the
National Guild Testing at
Schoolcraft College,
Livonia. They are: Sara Du-
ben, Stephanie Furman,
Ilene Goldfine, Hillary Gor-
don, Suzanne Herman, Sha-
ron Loyola, Errica McPher-
son, Leighanna Persin,
Tracey Proghovnick and
Melissa Waldman. Mrs.
Behar will also participate
in the Guild Testing at the
Prep. A-B Level.
Mrs. Behar is a piano stu-
dent of Donold Morelock at
Schoolcraft College, and is
in the piano teachers' cer-
tification program there.
Mrs. Behar also studied
piano under Julius Chajes,
Betty Kowalsky, Claire
Stern and Albert Filmore.

Hosts Lectures
The Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Branch of the Jewish
Community Center will
have a program in its Fri-
day lecture series 1 p.m. to-
day.
Mrs. Teddi Smokier will
speak on "A Jewish Mother
Visits China." At 1 p.m.
May 21, Mrs. Nettie Deutch
will discuss "Rewards of
Volunteering."
The public is invited to
the lectures. Admission is
free.

with office work. Respon-

phone contacts, doing light
typing, keeping records and
