ROME (JTA) — The Is-
raeli government has
awarded, posthumously, its
Medal of the Just to Father
Bronius Paukstys, a
Lithuanian priest of the
Salesian Order, who was
credited with saving the
lives of several hundred
Lithuanian Jews during the
Nazi occupation of Kaunas
between 1943-1945. Pauks-
tys died in Kaunas in 1966
at the age of 69.
