the roots of various division

Bond Unit Opens '82 Drive
With June 3 Tour of Lansing

Meir Club (GMC) of State of
Israel Bonds, has an-
nounced that the 1982 GMC
enrollment campaign will
open with a special tour to
Lansing on June 3.
Chairman of the day-long
tour is Anne Parzen. Hos-
tesses for the tour, which
will include a visit to the
Michigan Senate and a
luncheon, are Franka Char-
lupski, Ruth Friedman,
Miriam Hamburger and
Mrs. Parzen.

The Golda Meir
conceived in 1978 and
endorsed by Mrs. Meir,
was launched in 1979 in
the late Prime Minister's
memory. Membership
has increased substan-
tially each year, under
the national chairman-
ship of Roberta. Peters,
Metropolitan Opera star.
Eligible Israel Bond pur-
chasers are awarded a
specially-designed pin
which identifies them as
GMC members. This year
the pin was designed by
Menashe Kadishman,
one of Israel's growing
number of Sabra artists
who are gaining recogni-
tion in the world's art
capitals.
The gold tone pin is de-
signed after a series of
famous Kadishman steel
sculptures which can be
seen in the Israel Museum
Sculpture Garden, Tel Aviv
Museum and the Plaza of
the Mann Auditorium in
Tel Aviv.
Kadishman has also
created a diamond trustee
($10,000) pin.
