It was clear that both countries are now anxious to avoid a recurrence of the personal attacks on the chancellor made by Begin before Israel's Knesset elec- tions last June which se- verely strained German- Israeli relations. The Foreign Ministry here is also trying to pre- vent another affront to Israel on the basis of a report in Der Spiegel today that Foreign Minis- ter Hans-Dietrich Genscher has postponed his projected visit to Is- rael. A Ministry spokesman said the visit will probably take place after the NATO summit meeting here in June. He noted that Genscher could not have postponed his visit because no firm date had been set. Remains 'Quiet on Arms Sale to Jordan WASHINGTON (JTA) — The State Department re- fused to confirm this week that the Reagan Adminis- tration has decided to sell weapons to Jordan. "We have been holding discussions with the Jorda- nians about the possibility of some military sales," de- partment spokesman Dean Fischer said. He added that he had nothing to announce at the present and stressed that any proposed sale would have to be approved by Congress. Fischer was responding to a question about reports that at last week's meeting in Jordanian officials, the U.S. agreed to sell Jordan F-5G aircraft which is superior to the prese,nt American-made fighters Jordan has and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, a missile which can be fired from the shoulder of an in- fantryman. The Pentagon officials reportedly offered these weapons while turning down the F-16 jets and Hawk mobile anti-aircraft missiles the Jordanians want. Since it was reported earlier this year that the U.S. may.sell those weapons IS HERE! We have shared with you the many joys of our children, grandchildren and, hope- fully, the great-grandchildren. Since 1936, we have catered to our customers in Detroit and suburbs with the finest quality and strictly kosher meats and poultry. We invite the Rabbis of all Congregations and Temples and the public at large to join us for coffee and cookies on MAY 9TH. to help us celebrate our 26th anniversary in Oak Park and to wish all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day. NOW, we'd like to clear the air regarding the conflict in which we are engaged with the Vaad Harabonim. The Rabbis are making financial, personal and religious de- mands which we find totally unacceptable. t. 1. We have two grinders in our store, which we have used all these many years. The large one for kashered meat and the small one for un-kashered meat, for our customers who must be on a salt-free diet. They demand we take the small one out. 2. They demand that all meat be kashered before we display it in the counter. As a result of these demands, our .customers would never again have the privilege of choosing a fresh piece of beef. 3. Their cost of supervision will be extremely expensive and this will be reflected in the cost of kosher beef. 4. The Rabbis want to control the price of beef from the wholesale to retail level. And an additional 17 other demands, which we find unreasonable and unfair to our customers. Totally and absolutely unacceptable to us. WE ASK YOU — THE PUBLIC — TO VOICE YOUR OPINION IN THIS MATTER!!! WE ALSO INVITE all Rabbis of all Congregations and Temples and the public to visit and inspect our place of business at 13721 W. 9 Mile Road, Oak Park for Kashrus, cleanliness and honesty — any day of the week. As always, we will continue to kosher your meat on request. Our hamburger and poultry is always kashered. We look forward to serving you another 26 years. Many thanks, Sylvia and Phil Swarin P.S. Listen to radio station WMZK 14 on your A.M. radio, Wednesdays 8-p.m. for further announcements on this matter. 1
