Ruth Popkin, Hadassah
National Vice President,
will speak at the Greater
Detroit Chapter Major Gifts
Dinner, celebrating Hadas-
sah's 70th Anniversary, on
Wednesday, April 28, at 7
p.m., at the home of Rosie
and Mark Schlussel, 28755
Bell Road, Southfield.
Mrs. Popkin is the Na-
tional Coordinator of the •
Fundraising Division,
serves on the National
Board of Jewish National
Fund and of the American
Zionist Federation. She also
co-chaired the 1977 and
1978 Hadassah National
Conventions.
The special 70th An-
niversary $500 minimum
gift dinner will help Hadas-
sah to maintain the highest
quality medical care as it
constantly renovates, up-
dates and re-equips its two
major hospitals and other
facilities. As a "double
mitzvah" for Israel, Israel
bonds may be used for this

generation life member, has
served as Hadassah Medical
Organization chairman of
the Greater Detroit Chapter
and is active in the Eleanor
Roosevelt group.

Trohpies will be given to
all finalists in the main draw and con-
solation winners.

The Sabbath service will
be shared with Elissa Ash,
daughter of Marilyn and
Alan Ash of Huntington
Woods, on the occasion of
her Bat Mitzvah. Ellisa is a
life member of Hadassah
and her mother is currently
Treasurer of the Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah;

ENTRY FEE AND DEADLINE: The
deadline for all entries must be post-
marked Sunday, May 23, 1982. The
Entry fee is:

FACILITIES: The Tournament will be
played on 10 indoor hard courts.

SCHEDULE: First round matches will

begin on Wednesday morning at
9:00 a.m.
PLAYERS MUST BE
AVAILABLE TO PLAY AT THEIR
SCHEDULED TIMES FOR ALL DAYS
OF THE TOURNAMENT. PLEASE
CALL BARBARA GUTMAN at
851-4009 on THURSDAY, MAY 27
between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. FOR
STARTING TIME.

MATCHES: Each event must have
eight entrants to be held. All matches
will be 2 out of 3 sets, with a 9-point
tie breaker at 6-all in any one set. Ten
minute warm-up periods will be enfor-
ced and a 15 minute default rule will
be in effect.

DIVISIONS: There will be singles and
doubles with a consolation event for
first-round losers in all events.
Divisions will include:
Up to 3.0
3.5 & up
4.0 & up
Entrants may enter only 1 Singles and
1 Doubles event.

BALLS: A new can of balls, provided

by entrant, must be used for each match.
At the end of the match, the winner
will take the unopened can and loser
will take the opened can. New balls
will not be required for the consolation
