55th annual installation of
officers 12:15 p.m. May 13
at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Coffee and cake will be
served by the sisterhood of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek,

tion. Installing officer will

The afternoon program

The Cooperative Council
of the League of Jewish
Women's Organizations of
Greater Detroit held its an-
nual Passover Seder lunch-
eon April 12 at the main
Jewish Community Center
for mentally impaired pa-
tients from hospitals, foster
homes and nursing homes.
Approximately 250
guests attended. Each per-
son was presented with a
gift of Passover foods.
Entertainment was pro-
vided by the Musicaleers —
Shirley Frost, Shirley Be-
lkin, Mimi Summers, Clar-
ence Sharp and pianist Rose
Morgan.
Max Sosin was master
of ceremonies. Rabbi and
Mrs. Solomon Gruskin
made direct contact with
each patient and ar-
ranged for their trans-
portation through the
Ladies of Oak Park.
The president of the
Cooperative Council is Mrs.
Norman Schakne; chair-
man is Mrs. Paul Deutch;
chairmen of the day, Mrs.
George Brown and Mrs.
Harold Greenspan; gift
chairmen, Mrs. Stewart

Attention will also be
given to the current Middle
East situation and its im-
pact on this country by
guest speaker Prof. Zvi
Gitelman, director of the
Center for Russian and
Eastern European Studies
at the University of Michi-
gan.

The educational event
provides an opportunity to
share ideas for the division's
board, Campaign and long-
range planning committee
leadership. Participants
will focus on the changing
attitudes and involvement
of Jewish women with re-
gard to volunteerism, as
they examine the findings
of a questionnaire that was
sent to 1,300 Detroiters.
The survey was developed
by the Women's Division
long-range planning com-
mittee, headed by Carolyn
Greenberg, and conducted
in conjunction with a na-
tional survey of the Council
of Jewish Federations.
Workshops will be
conducted to discuss
survey implications for
future programming,
