According to Renee
Mahler, chairman. of the li-
brary committee, "the li-
brary was set up_ for chil-
dren, parents and the pro-
fessional staff of the Or-
chards. It's not a circulating
library, but it is open to the
public by appointment."
Gerald Levin, execu-
tive director of the Or-
chards Children's Serv'
ices, said the library con-
tains books for parents
and children which dis-
cuss subjects such as
adoption, divorce, death
and children going to the
hospital.

Memorial Library is open
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-
4:30 p.m. For information or

brary, 552-8544.
The Orchards Children's
Services, under the auspices
of the Greater Detroit
Chapter of the National
Council of Jewish- Women,
provides programs for dis-
turbed children. Their serv-
ices include two residential
care programs for boys, out-
patient early-intervention
treatment in elementary
school, day camp for 3 to 6
year olds and individual
and family therapy for par-
ents.
Co-chairmen of the Or-
chards Children's Services
are Doreen Hermelin and
Sandra Leshman.
