The Blvd. . . . The Coun-
try House, though, seems
more adapted for it .. .
being a huge edifice itself
. on mammoth grounds
. .. I'm betting that no-
body else in the city will
now give more "doggie"
or "people" bags than
Topinka's
As Scott said, "In Texas,
big is real big" . . . At To-
pinka's now, big is not only
that . . . but a wonderful
culinary experience.
WON'T IT BE WON-
DERFUL when Nancy
Gurwin opens this June in
"Funny Girl" on the outside
stage at Michigan Inn? .. .
Can't wait to see it.
Organizations would do
well to consider a Nancy
Gurwin performance, for
fundraising.
Nancy, by the way, has a
tremendous one-woman
show . . . Groups should look
into this also.
A YOUNG TRADI-
TION of spring in Bluewa-
ter Country will be contin-
ued this Sunday, when
River Crab again launches
its famous Sunday Brunch.
Beginning its eighth sea-
son, the brunch has become
famous for both the quan-
tity and quality of offerings
and culinary creativity in-
spired by restaurateur
Chuck Muer and his Execu-
tive Chef Larry Pagliara.
Running 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

28815 FRANKLIN ROAD AT NORTHWESTERN • Southfield 358 - 3355

every Sunday through late
fall, the feast and the
beauty of the St. Clair River
setting draws diners for
Sunday drives all the way
from Toledo and Flint . .
The restaurant is on the
water, just north of St. Clair
on N. River Road.
New this year will be a
varied mix of entrees from
Sunday to Sunday, and new
ones like peppered capon,
and an omelette station
where the diner orches-
trates the composition of the
omelette from a variety of
ingredients.
The line has been held on
prices... $8.95 for adults
. . . $4.95 for ages four
through 11 . . . and kids
three and under eat free.
PHOENICIA, Middle
East restaurant so very
popular among many, will
move end of May from its
present site on Woodward
south of Davison in High-
land Park, to 588 Woodward
in Birmingham.
RIALTO CAFE on
Woodward and 9 Mile goes
through about 12 to 15 fresh
32-pound turkeys a week
.. No roll or breast here . .
but cut directly from the
bird itself . . . complete
nine-course dinner morn-
ing, noon or night . . . under
$5 . . . Regular dinners are
even less as folks have a
choice of the big bargains.
Rialto is rated among the
top restaurants in Detroit
for complete dining under
$5 . . . and celebrates its
55th birthday at the same
locale this year . . . Owners
Charlie and Frank Pappas
don't use any pressed meat
. . . Even the cutlets and
parmigiana are with real
veal..
HICKORY'S on North-
western and 12 Mile is no
more a strictly chicken-
and-rib operation . . . It is
now almost a full-service
restaurant, with Greek
salad, six other salads, clam
strips, meatballs, eight
sandwiches, gourmet stuf-
fed pizza in a delicious
streudel dough.
There are four all-you-
can-eat types of evenings
now . . . Every evening is
chicken ... Monday is Mex-
esta (tacos,
ican Fi
enchiladas, nachos, bur-
ritos, tostados, etc.) . . . Fri-
day is Fish Feast (haddock
and seafood chowder .. .
Every Wednesday after 5
p.m. is Pasta Pizza Party in-
cluding five pasta dishes
(spaghetti with meatballs
or meat sauce, lasagna,
mannicotti, ravioli) . . . plus
stuffed pizza (vegetarian
and meat.)
During lunch, the $2.95
all-you-can-eat soup and
salad bar is on a 10-inch
dinner plate with 25 cents
added to any entree item
from the menu. . . and
heaping as much as you
want plus soup . . . one time
only ... $1 instead of 25
ows as many visits
cents all
as you want.
TRY THE BREWED de-
caffeinated coffee at Gallery
Restaurant on 10 Mile, east
of Evergreen . . . Folks can
