food items, certified kosher
for Passover, can be gotten
in the pre-holiday season.
New Era potato chips are
available throughout the
metropolitan Detroit area
at party stores and at Farm-
er Jack, Shopping Center,
Chatham and Great Scott
Supermarkets. They also
will be available in major-
supermarkets in Windsor,
London, Kitchener, Hamil-
ton and Toronto, Ont.
Speas apple juice, kosher
for Passover without special
markings, will be available
in glass jars and in tin cans,
in Detroit, Toledo, Min-
neapolis, and Milwaukee,
and under the name Speas
Farm apple juice, in New
York, Chicago, Columbus,
Cincinnati and In-
dianapolis.
In metropolitan De-
troit, Speas apple juice
also will be available in
refrigerated half-gallon
cartons, kosher for
Passover, but without
special markings, pro-
duced by the C.F. Burger
Creamery Co. of Detroit.
Other products that will
bear special Passover mark-
ings and should not be pur-
chased without them are
the following: Wesley's
Quaker Maid Ice Cream Co.
has produced a special
kosher-for-Passover for-
mula for chocolate and van-
illa ice cream, in half-
gallons. These are in
specially-marked packages
that bear the legend kosher
for Passover with the sym-
bol of the Metro Kashruth
Council.
Other ice cream, ice milk,
and sherbet products, and
ice cream novelties man-
ufactured by Wesley's are
kosher for use the year
around, but they are not
kosher for Passover. These
are available at Farmer
Jack, Shopping Center and
most other supermarkets
where Passover foods are
sold, and many party stores.
In addition, Detroit Pure
Milk Co. has produced the
following products kosher
for Passover: cottage
cheese, sour cream and 2
percent low-fat milk. These
are available at all Farmer
Jack stores in the met-
ropolitan Detroit area, in
Ann Arbor and in Toledo.
The same areas of distribu-
tion are available to the
Michigan Beverage Co.,
which is producing kosher-
for-Passover orange juice
and grapefruit juice. -
The Metro Kashruth
Council also announces
that all of the companies
that are under its super-
vision which are
Jewish-owned, in whole
or in part, have arranged
for the sale of their
hametz, so that all of their
stores and outlets may be
patronized for non-
Passover purchass im-
mediately after the
Passover holidays.
