Acting on a complaint from one Senator, the ADL found that the congress, one of the nongovernmental organizations represented the United Nations Eco- __Jrnic and Social Council, had sent two volumes of viruntly anti-Semitoc material to each member of the Senate. The ADL also discovered that 1,000 sets of "The Six Million Reconsidered" and ."Anti-Zion" had been sent to members of the British Parliament. Reading Declines JERUSALEM (ZINS) -- Israelis are not the "People of the Book" according to a poll by the Van Leer Insti- tute. Only 8.1 percent of Is- raelis reads books and newspapers for more than two hours per day, while 50 percent- of the population spend that much time with television or radio. Israelis spend an_ everage of 143 minutes per day with TV or radio. Those of West- ( p. origin average 114 ,minutes per day reading, while those from Asia and Africa read for only 73 min- utes per day. Debt Comparison JERUSALEM (ZINS) — Economist Dr. Steven Plaut recently wrote a Haaretz ar- ticle suggesting that Israel must take strong measures to reduce her foreign debt.
