Simons has been selected 1982 recipient of the Leo M. Franklin Award in Human Relations and will receive the award at a noon luncheon on April 21 in the ballroom of the Engineering Society of De- troit. The luncheon, now in its fifth year, is jointly spon- sored by Wayne State Uni- versity and Temple Beth El where Rabbi Franklin served for more than half- a-century. Simons is an active member of the tem- ple. The award is given an- nually to a student, alum- nus, faculty member or in- dividual identified with Wayne State University who has made a significant contribution in the field of human relations. Simons has raised funds for such WSU cam- pus buildings as the Nate Shapero Hall of Phar- macy, the Meyer and Anna Prentis School of Business Administration, and the two buildings bearing the name of Helen DeRoy. For his work in behalf of the WSU Press, the WSU Board of Governors named 2.
