Michigan JWV
Hosts Tourney

The Jewish War Veterans
Bowling League of Michi-
gan will host the 1981-1982
annual Fifth Area (formerly
Fifth Region) bowling tour-
nament April 24 and 25 at
Strike-n-Spare Lanes.
Deadline for completed
entry applications with
checks is Wednesday.
Only paid-up members
(1982) ofJWV are eligible to
compete. Associate mem-
bers of JWV and bowlers in
JWV bowling league also
are eligible.
Headquarters for the
tournament will be at the
Holiday Inn-Southfield.
There will be a stag dinner
April 24 after bowling and a
breakfast April 25 before
bowling.
As part of the
weekend's activities,
there will be an open
house at the JWV Memo-
rial Home on April 24,
co-chaired by Rubin
Zissman, Memorial Home
Association president,
and William Greenberg,
state commander.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold
(Jean) Kaplan of Oak Park
were honored by their chil-
dren Saturday at a kidush
at Cong. Khal Charidim on
the occasion of their 50th
wedding anniversary.
Their children are Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel (Rhoda)
Schwartz, Seymour Kaplan
and Mr. and Mrs. Edward
(Florence) Kaplan of Mon-
sey, N.Y. The senior Kap-
lans have two
grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
The couple were married
March 27, 1932 in Detroit.
The elder Mr. Kaplan was
in the wholesale tobacco
and candy business and
worked for Ford Motor Co.
He is active in behalf of
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah.
He is a member of Young
Israel of Oak-Woods.
Mrs. Kaplan is a member
of the Young Israel Sister-
hood, Mizrachi and vice
president of the Ladies of
Yeshivath Beth Yeh,:.dah.
The couple also are mem-
bers of Cong. Bnai Zion.
