Beth Shalom Melave Malka
Cites Berman on Retirement

This holiday season enjoy deliciously rich and creamy Philadelphia Brand cream
cheese. It's certified Kosher for Passover by Rabbi Bernard Levy. Look for spe-
cially marked Philadelphia Brand cream cheese, traditional style, or soft style in
the handy serving tub. And spread the joy with best Passover wishes from Kraft.

A melave malka in honor
of the retirement of Moric
Berman from Cong. Beth
Shalom will be held 8:30
p.m. April 3 at Beth
Shalom.
Berman was the shames
and Torah reader at Beth
Shalom for 10 years. He
conducted the two daily
minyanim.
Born in Czechoslovakia,
Berman was interned in a
forced labor camp in Russia
during World War II. In
1946, he was freed from the
camp and came back to his
native Czechoslovakia,
where he married his wife,
Susan.
The couple went to Is-
rael in 1949 and Berman
was an ambulance driver
for the Israel army and a
driver for the Israel
postal service.
The couple came to the
U.S. in 1954. Prior to corn-
ing to Beth Shalom, Be-
rman was a driver for the
Jewish Community Center.

Haplaytah, and is active in
efforts on behalf of the
Jewish National Fund and
