The non-Jew, it seems,
has too often learned about
the Jew through bits and
pieces of information that

have been incorrectly un-
derstood and inaccurately
transmitted.

Urban Decay Is 1990s Problem

NEW YORK — American
Jews have been urged to
concern themselves with
urban policy in an evalua-
tion which contends that
unless the United States
develops and strengthens
programs to revitalize
urban areas and help urban
poor, by 1990 America's
inner cities could be
marked by "growing con-
frontation between classes
and ethnic groups."
The recommendation to

Jews is contained in a book-
let on "Urban/Suburban
Problems," issued by one of
six task forces on the '80s
created by the American
Jewish Committee during
its 75th anniversary year.
