Greek Aids Yeshivat Akiva

Peace Subject
of Dialogue

The Detroit Council for
World Affairs will present a
dialogue with Riffat Hassan
and Rabbi Sherwin Wine
12:30 p.m. Thursday at the
Birmingham Temple.
Theme of the dialogue is
The Roots of Peace,
Judaism and Islam."
Ms. Hassan is chairman
of the religious studies pro-
gram at the University of
Louisville. She is a member
of the Trialogue of Jewish,
Christian and Muslim
Scholars, sponsored by the
Kennedy Institute of Ethics
in Washington, D.C.
Rabbi Wine is the founder
and spiritual leader of the
Birmingham Temple.
Refreshments - will be
served. There is an admis-
sion charge. For details, call
Marjorie Katz, 577-3453 or
577-3468.

Yeshivat Akiva has re-
ceived a five-year donation
of sports equipment from
Deano Moraitis, owner of
Shields Pizzeria.
Moraitis is a Greek im-
migrant who came to this
country in 1965. From ini-
tial dishwashing and
shoeshining jobs, Deano
gradually worked himself
up to his current position as
owner of five pizza parlors.

You Deserve
The. Best...

Although Deano himself
never completed grammar
school, he is a firm believer
in the value of education.
"Education," he says, "gives
someone the choice of a bet-
ter life style." An active par-
ticipant in communal af-
fairs and a contributor to
the University of Detroit,
Deano's interest in Akiva
derives from a Jewish an-
cestor.
