An 'Interfaith Guide
to the Holy Land'
JERUSALEM — The
Jerusalem Post and Carta
Publishing Co. have an-
nounced the release of a new
"Pilgrim's Interfaith Guide
to the Holy Land." Pro-
fusely illustrated with maps
and line drawings, the new
Guide provides short histor-
ical and descriptive essays
on 40 religious sites and
shrines.
The guide serves all four
of the major faiths in Eretz
Israel (Judaism, Chris-
tianity, Islam and Bahai).
The author of the "Pil-
grim's Interfaith Guide" is
Dr. Franklin H. Littell, pro-
fessor of religion at Temple
University and past
president of the National
Christian Leadership Con-
ference for Israel. Dr. Littell
has made more than a dozen
trips to Israel since the
Six-Day War. He is by Israel
government appointment a
member -of the Interna-
tional Council of Yad Vas-
hem in Jerusalem, and has
also been for a number of
years an adjunct to the fa-
culty of the Institute of Con-
temporary Jewry, Hebrew
University.
He was assisted in the
Guide by his wife, Marcia
Sachs Littell, a profes-
sional educator who is
presently executive di-
rector of the National In-
stitute on the Holocaust.
Negotiations are under
