All Our Love

Curiosity languished
under repeated stimulants,
and novelites cease to excite
surprise, until a length we
do not wonder even at a
miracle.

Earl, Renee,
Howard, Joel, Jason
and David

nate fight against the sale of
AWACS to Saudi Arabia
told an Allied Jewish Cam-
paign audience last week
that attacks on the so-called
Israeli lobby have been
"outrageous," particularly

since Mobil Oil didn't have
to explain away its own,
pro-Saudi position put forth
in full-page ads during the
AWACS debate.
Paul D. Sarbanes (D-Md.)
told Campaign contributors
at Adat Shalom Synagogue
Feb. 11: "I-think Jews and
non-Jews in this country
who are deeply concerned
about American policy in
the Middle East, and par-
ticularly that it ought to be
consistent with American

values and American prin-
ciples, are not a Jewish or
Israeli lobby but really an
American lobby for what is
best with respect to Ameri-
can values and American
principles."
Targeted for defeat this
year by the National Con-
servative Political Action
Committee (NCPAC), Sen.
Sarbanes urged his listen-
ers to assume "a double
burden": "to, ensure that
forces within America are
such that our pluralistic
society can be preserved and
maintained" and "to ensure
that American policy main-
tains its fundamental com-
mitment to Israel's survi-
val."
