Two Michigan legislators
have dropped their plan to
sponsor a law requiring
Michigan schools to teach
Creationism, the biblical
version of the creation of life
and the world, alongside the
Theory of Evolution.
Rep. Alan Cropsey (R-
DeWitt) and State Senator
Ed Fredricks (R-Holland)
said that a new law was not
required because, they
claim, Creationism can now
be taught in the schools.
Western and Columbia
school districts in Jackson
County, and Carsonville-
Port Sanilac School District
in Sanilac County presently
teach Creationism in sci-
ence classes.

The real democratic
American idea is, not that
every man shall be on a
level with every other, but
that every one shall have
liberty, without hindrance,
to be what God made him.'
