Taxes. They can greatly reduce a CD's return. However, a
tax-deferred investment (currently yielding 14.25%) can produce
a higher net yield. And annuities are just such an investment.
Tax-deferred annuities can help squeeze extra earnings from
your long-term investment dollars. Because you pay no current
income taxes, money that would otherwise be lost to taxes can be
put to work earning additional interest for you.
To learn more about tax-deferred annuities call Larry Berke,
Irwin Cohen or Marty Feldman at the number below, or return the
coupon.

ing Soviet Jewish immigrants to the community and
assisting Orthodox Jews. Cited were the hospital's
pastoral care department, the kosher kitchen, the
program for circumcisions, and free -medical care
provided by Shiffman Clinic and the assistance of

10-Year Battery
Created at TAU

TEL AVIV -- A new bat-
tery has been developed by
Tel Aviv University's Dr.
Emanuel Peled and Herzl
Yamin which can be used
for a period of up to 10 years,
is 50-100 percent higher in
energy density per weight
than today's long-term bat-
teries and thus more com-
pact and is cheaper to con-
struct.
The battery, the only one
in the world to combine
lithium and sulphur, which
yields one of the highest
energy- densities possible,
can thus be smaller than
existing batteries and yield
the same energy levels.
The battery should be
useful for a wide range of
purposes, primarily in
appliances and instruments
that require long-term, low
power, such as: pacemakers,
calculators, electronic
watches, and smoke detec-
tors.

Dress Code
Urged for MKs

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Knesset Speaker Menahem
Savidor wants to impose a
dress code on Knesset mem-
bers.
He claims the way MKs
and visitors dress shows
disrespect for Israel's parli-
ament. Savidor plans to
issue directives requiring
male members to wear jac-
kets in winter and regular
shoes, not sandals in the
summer. He will not insist
on ties.

The Committee for
Furtherance of Taharat
Hamispaha (Jewish family
purity) will present Rabbi

Schools building.
Rabbi Lamm will _speak
on "Spaces in Your To-
getherness — Jewish In-
sights in Independence
Within Marriage."
Rabbi Lamm lectures fre-
quently and has published
numerous articles and
books on Jewish tradition.
He is the author of "The
Jewish Way in Death and
Dying" and "The Jewish
Way in Love and Marriage."

The rabbinical advi-
sory board of the newly
formed committee in-
cludes Rabbi James

Gordon of Young Israel
of Oak-Woods, Rabbi
