Jessie Haines. On Oct. 6,
1934, in the eighth inning of
the fourth game, Haines re-
lieved Bill Walker. Mary
Owen's single scored one
run and sent Greenberg,
who had doubled, to third.
As the Cardinals' pitcher
struck out Pete Fox, the
runners completed a double
steal. Second baseman
Frank Frisch's return throw
to the plate got away from
catcher, Bill DeLancey as
Greenberg scored and Owen
went to third base.
Eldon Auker and the Ti-
gers defeated the St. Louis
Cardinals, at Sportsman's
Park, 10-4.
In 1980, what pitcher
defeated Steve Stone to

Ferguson Jenkins. On
