Winners Named
at Weizmann
Science Fair

REHOVOT — Alon Levy,
of Rehovot, and Sophia Ab-
raham, of Eilat have each
been awarded first prize in
the recent Science Fair held
on the campus of the Weiz-
mann Institute.
Levy, 18, received his
prize for a computer pro-
gram which takes as input
musical scores, permits the
transporation of notes from
one key to another at will,
and provides a print-out of
the transposed score.
Miss Abraham's prize
was earned for research on
the fertilization cycles and
behavior patterns of three
species of unicellular
micro-organisms,
(Foraminifera) that live in
the Red Sea and are
preserved as fossils, thanks
to the amount of limestone
in their bodies.
The second prize was won
by 17-year-old Hadar Mar-
cus of Petah Tikva, who
traced the effect of the
potassium content of fer-
tilizers on the growth and
water requirements of cot-
ton and bean plants.
