It is located just behind the 72,000 sq. ft. office and warehouse owned by Irwin Arkin. Through the typical colo- nial entrance, with its leaded glass door and side windows, guests are awed by the ambience of this fine old mansion . . . cher- rywood banister, original floor plan of the Rogers, home (each of the rooms were converted into private dining areas that afford a great deal of intimacy and privacy). Gracious smiles and serv- ice are among the warmth of White House Manor . . . Greeting us was hostess Ruth Larkin . . . (hostess Linda Johnson was off this day) . . . as we went into one of the 'very pleasant rooms. White House Manor has 11,000 square feet that includes seven rooms, two lounges, a lower level for banquets and an attic . . . Every room of the former man- sion, including closets, have been utilized . . and all the aged wood has been retained - . . . Each of the rooms has its own personality . . . carpet- ing, drapes and wallpaper different and matching the areas they are in. The elegance of White House Manor is quiet re- finement . . . with people undecided on whether to admire the atmosphere or their food. Sandra Nobel was our ef- ficient, pleasant waitress . . . bringing bread basket with breadsticks, warm gar- lic toast and rolls, seafood chowder, salad with both creamy and dry Rocquefort, sorbet to cleanse the palate, Veal Cordon Bleu . . . and a delightful glass of white wine. Head chef at White House Manor is John Kring . . assisted by Ralph Green- wood, who prepared our meal. The joint venture . . .
