Sinai, Ford Hospitals Join
for Lung Disease Therapy

A program of pulmonary
rehabilitation sponsored
jointly by Henry Ford Hos-
pital and Sinai Hospital of
Detroit, has already helped
some 300 people who suffer
from chronic lung disease.
Designed and im-
plemented by physicians,
nurses and therapists spe-
cializing in the treatment of
lung diseases, the program
offers one week of education
and six weeks of exercise
therapy.
Its goal throughout the
seasons is to help the par-
ticipant live a normal life
within the limits imposed

car ferry Anion which burst
into flames in Haifa bay

The 7,000-ton motorship
was rocked by an explosion
while entering the harbor.
Local police have not ruled
out terrorist action as the
cause.
The Anion was built in
Italy in 1965 for the Israeli
Somerfin company as the
Nili. She was sold to Greek
owners several years later.

1 /2 lb. marrow bones
3 lbs. short ribs
1 tbsp. salt
14 cups water
1 small cabbage, thinly sliced
2 medium onions, diced
8 carrots, diced
2 stalks chopped celery
1 tsp. sugar
1 can (1 lb., 12 ozs.) whole to-
matoes
1 20-oz. bag frozen green
beans
1 9 oz. pkg. frozen lima beans
3 potatoes, cubed
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
salt to taste (about 2 tsps.)
fresh parsley (optional; added
when reheated)

Place bones, short ribs, 1
tbsp. salt and water in an 8-qt.
pot. Cover and bring to boil.
Skim. Add remaining ingre-
dients, bring to boil and re-
duce to simmer. Cook covered
for 3 1/2 hours, making sure
meat is tender. Refrigerate
overnight and remove fat. Re-
heat with marrow bones and
some of the short ribs and
serve. Freeze the rest. Makes
about 6 quarts of soup.
