her other obligations with
understanding and skill.

Five thousand readers of
the Norwegian weekly
"Familien" have contrib-
uted funds to plant 10,000
trees on Mount Dvora near
Upper Nazareth.
Meant as a gesture of sol
idarity with the state of Is-
rael, the campaign for the
"Familien" forest is led by
editor Carl Lunde, who
came to Israel for the for-
est's dedication. Lunde has
already begun a second ph-
ase, which is expected to
bring the total up to 14,000
trees.

JERUSALEM — Some
500 Ethiopian Jews
(Falashas) gathered here
earlier this month to celeb-
rate Segged, an ancient bi-
blical holiday dating back to
Babylonian times. On Seg-
ged, Ethiopian Jews gather
at a mountain top to pray.
The Falashas prayed in
Jerusalem for the return to
Zion of their relatives being
terrorized in Ethiopia and
suffering in the refugee
camps of East Africa.
The prayers, led by
Falasha Rabbi Yossef
Adane, took place despite a
directive issued by Jewish
Agency official Yehuda
Dominitz, who, according to
the Falasha, was fearful of a
demonstration by the
Ethiopian Jews. The direc-
tive cancelled the buses that

Orange Peel
Juice Drink

:
JERUSALEM (JNI)
Israel, one of the world's
foremost citrus producers,
has developed an artificial
.orange drink to replace
relatively expensive fresh
juice. Similar in taste,
smell, appearance and nut-
ritional value to fresh
orange juice, the drink is
made from oil extracted
from citrus peels.
The idea of an Israeli
kibutz, one of Israel's
largest citrus juice expor-
ters, was implemented by
the Casali Institute of
applied chemistry at He-
brew University.
