guide for immigrant
teachers considering settl-
ing in Israel has been pub-
lished by Israel's Ministry
of Immigrant Absorption.
The 16-page publication,
entitled, "Conditions of
Employment in Israel for
Teachers and Kindergarten
Teachers," offers specific in-
formation on job and ret-
raining opportunities
within Israel's educational
system, including salaries
and fringe benefits from
nursery to secondary school.
The guide, one of a series
of career publications, is
now available at Israel
Aliyah Centers throughout

cepting applications for its
Machon Gold study prog-
ram in Jerusalem for
American female college
students.
Machon Gold offers two
major programs for Ameri-
can girls: the Judaic studies
program, a one-year course
for those wishing to enrich
their knowledge of Jewish
thought and Hebrew, with-
out any specific professional
teaching aim; and the
teacher-training program, a
one-year course leading to
certification as a teacher in
Jewish primary schools in
the Diaspora.
