graph . . . and on W. Grand
Blvd. are going strong.
Topinka's Country House
all lit up with those fabul-
ous holiday decorations is
like a little Las Vegas..
It's always beautiful but
this time even more so a
showplace of grandeur .
combined with good food,
excellent service ... and
dancing Tuesday - Saturday
to Billy Rose Quartet.
Recent Gypsy Festival at
Topinka's Country House
was capacity-filled . coor-
dinated by Billy Rose.. .
with Ziggy Bela, Gus Hor-
vath, Gypsy Emma, etc.
anong the 12-piece festival
entourage . . . Joy, festivity
and gaiety reigned as people
had fun ... listening to the
music, clapping in rhythm
and applauding with much
merriment.
It was a wonderful even-
ing of international festiv-
ity at Topinka's Country
House . . . with gypsy,
Romanian, Italian, Rus-
sian, Jewish and other
melodies ringing out in joy-
ous attraction while many
ate chicken paprikash .. .
and wanted to know how
soon the next one will be
held . . . Don't be surprised
if Topinka's owner Al
Balooly starts having these
gypsy festivals every Mon-
day.
NEW DISH at Ala Cart
in Applegate Square,
Northwestern at Inkster, is
another winner by Chef
David Brian . . . poached
fish with creamed dill
sauce.
The excellent vegetable
and fruit salad bar at Ala
Cart is included with all
meals . . . plus the new large
Sunday Brunch, 1 to 3 .. .
and Monday evenings when
everything on the menu is
$9.95.
D. DENNISON'S SEA-
FOOD TAVERN recently
opened on 12 Mile just west
of Orchard Lake Rd. in
Orchard-12 Plaza.
Owners are Dieter
Boehm, Dennis Serras and
Mike Gibbons.
Dieter owns three Ann
Arbor restaurants . . .
Maude's, Real Seafood Co.
and Mantle's.
Mike
previously
worked for Dieter and is
also a partner with De-
nnis in Mantle's.
D. Dennison's Seafood
Tavern seats 100 in a bar
and lounge . . . and 200 in
the dining room . . . Em-
phasis is on family dining,
seafoods, sandwiches,
salads, pasta, ribs, etc.
All over are artifacts of
Yesteryears . . . Lights over
the bar were old factory
lights . . . The bar is all
mahogany from a saloon in
Kentucky ... . Windows are
all around D. Dennison's . .
giving a beautiful southerly
view of outdoors Hang-
ing plants give a
greenhouse atmosphere and
an oyster bar is in the saloon
area . . . Framed labels of
days long ago are all
through the well-planned
restaurant.
Table seating is at chec-

kered tablecloths . . . red
