Tauber, general chairmen of the 1982 Allied Jewish Campaign - Israel Emer- gency Fund, have an- nounced the appointment of chairmen to the Special Gifts subcommittee of the Campaign Management Committee. Beginning this year, Campaign leadership has been divided into two categories: Major Gifts and the Campaign Management Committee, each having its own subcommittees. Milton Barnett and Joseph H. Orley are co- chairmen of Special Gifts. The vice chairmen are Les- ter S. Burton, Marvin I. Danto, Donald Fox, Sidney Freedland, Dr. Milton H. Goldrath and Charles Snider. a pre- Barnett, Campaign chairman dur- ing the 1981 Campaign, also has served as a pre- Campaign vice chairman and associate chairman. A former chairman of the Real Estate and Building Trades Division, he is a member of the Detroit Service Group and serves on the board of the Jewish Community Center. Orley was a pre- Campaign chairman in 1981 and a pre-Campaign vice chairman in 1978 and 1979. He has chaired the Industrial and Automotive Division and is a former member of the Jewish Wel- fare Federation's Collection Review Committee. Orley belongs to the Detroit Ser- vice Group. Burton, a 1981 pre- Campaign associate chair- man, was chairman of the Real Estate and Building Trades Division 1978-1980. He is chairman of the Tamarack Hills Authority, and serves on the Federa- tion Board of Governors and the board of the Jewish Home for Aged. A member of Detroit Service Group, Burton is on the real estate subcommittee of the United Jewish Charities' Finance Committee. Danto was a pre- Campaign associate chair- man in 1981, 1978 and 1977 and a pre-Campaign vice chairman in 1976. He was associate chairman of Federation's Collection Re- view Committee in 1981 and a member of the Nominating Committee. A former chairman of the Mercantile Division, he is on the boards of the Detroit Service Group and Jewish Vocational Service. Fox, a Professional Health Division chair- man during the last three Campaigns, has been ac- five for many years in the Pharmacists Section of the division. Women's Meeting Set for Wednesday Contributors of $600 or more to the Allied Jewish Campaign Israel Emergency Fund through Women's Division will have the opportunity to hear Prof. Allen Pollack at a luncheon meeting arranged by the division's Pre- Campaign section. The event will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Standard Club North. A specialist in Russian history and the role of the Jews in the revolutionary movement, Prof. Pollack has taught at Brooklyn University, the University of Pittsburgh and Yeshiva University. He helped to es- tablish the American Pro- fessors for Peace in the Mid- dle East, with a member- ship of 15,000 on some 500 campuses.
