Prisoner of Conscience
Anatoly Shcharansky to
help publicize his plight.
Shcharansky was sen-
tenced to 13 years in prison
on fabricated charges of spy-
ing for the U.S.
Shcharansky was a leader
of the Jewish emigration
movement in the Soviet
Union and his wife, Avital,
lives in Israel.

United Jewish Appeal's na-
tional campaign policy
board meeting next week at
the Waldorf Astoria Hotel
to begin initial planning for
the 1983 campaign.
