abide by the request of the
prosecution.

first Yiddish fire and heart
attack manual, prepared by
the American Jewish
Committee in cooperation
with the Los Angeles Fire
Department and Jewish
Family Services of Los
Angeles, will be presented
to the Freda Mohr Multi-
Services Center Monday.
Spurred by the need to
ease language barriers dur-
ing emergency fire and
heart attack episodes, Dr.
Neil C. Sandberg, western
regional director of the
committee, and Chief John
C. Gerard of the Los
Angeles Fire Department
developed the project.

cording to the latest Statis-
tical Yearbook in Israel, at.
the end of 1980 there were
3.2 million Jews in Israel.
Some 808,000ef that total
had immigrated from Etu-o-
pean.countries and 642,000
from Afro-Asian countries.
Of the 1.8 million zebras,
528,000 were of Ashkenazi
background and 814,000
were of Sephardi back-
ground.
Observers believe that
those figures prove that
political power in Israel is
shifting to the Sephardi
majority.

Insurer Saved

TEL AVIV (ZINS) — An
Israeli insurance company
was saved $300,000 by the
Foreign Ministry several
years ago. The Menora
company issued the policy
on the life of President
An Jar Sadat of Eygpt after
the Israeli-Egyptian peace
treaty was signed.
The Foreign Ministry
canceled the policy on the
grounds that the peace
treaty should not be linked
with a commercial publicity
campaign. -
