Bailies, owner and operator of the Detroit Woolen Co. Yard Goods and Drapery Store from 1931 to 1954, died Nov. 5 at age 84. Born in New York City, Mrs. Bailies moved to De- troit and later to Flint, where she had been a resi- dent since 1931. She was a member of Cong. Beth Israel, and its sisterhood, Hadassah, Bnai Brith Women, Women's American ORT, CARIB and the Flint Jewish Federa- tion. Since her retirement from business, she was active in Jewish causes. She helped resettle new immigrants and was the honorary chairman of the Women's United Jewish Appeal in Flint for the past 15 years. In 1979, Mrs. Bailies was honored in Flint with the "woman of the year" award. Mrs. Bailies is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Philip (Marian) Agree; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
