Born in Riga, Latvia,
Hellman was a foreign
correspondent stationed
in London, Paris, Beirut
and Damascus. A
graduate of the American
University in Beirut, he
lived in Arab countries
and was a newsman for
the Jerusalem Post. He
accompanied the Anglo -
American Commission
on Inquiry and was ar-
rested and imprisoned by
the Arabs on the charge
that he was sending press
dispatches unfavorable
to the Arab cause.
Hellman is a member of
the International Steering
Committee of the World
Conference on Soviet
Jewry.

will have a potluck brunch
