Nov. 15 at noon. Philip
Slomovitz, honorary chair-
man, will share his reminis-
cences of Mr. Schaver with

Elie Wiesel.
Bloch co-chaired several
finance committees for the
Democratic Party. He is a
member of the Democratic
National Finance Commit-

Hermelin is national
campaign co-chairman of
Israel Bonds. He is a foun-
der and continuing member
of the Prime Minister's
Club, and currently is one of
the national vice presidents
of Men's ORT; vice
president, Detroit Friends
of Hebrew University; trus-
tee, American Friends of
Hebrew University; vice
president, Cong. Shaarey
Zedek; and board member of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion.
Hermelin has been active
in support of Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity, Yeshiva University
and the Council of Orthodox
Rabbis. He is a former board
member of the Jewish
Community Center, Fresh
Air Society and Akiva Spe-
cial Education Program.
With his wife Doreen,
Hermelin has been an
active supporter and
executive committee
member of Chabad-
Lubavitch for more than
a decade. He is a patron
of the Ann Arbor Chabad
House, and together with
Judge Avern Cohn and
Jack Shenkman was in-
strumental in arranging
the Lubavitch acquisi-
tion of the former Labor
Zionist Building in Far-
