MAIL DEPT. ... "We
would like to respond to the
letter in the Oct. 9 issue of
The Jewish News regarding
The Lark restaurant. De-
spite this letter we went to
The Lark on Oct. 15 for
dinner to celebrate a special
occasion. How glad we were
that we went because we
experienced a delightful
evening!
"We were cordially
greeted at the door by owner
Jim Lark and then taken to
our table. We were served in
a most professional manner.
The food was not only excel-
lent but was also presented
beautifully.
"The evening was well
worth the price. We were
indeed fortunate to have a
truly great restaurant in
the Metropolitan Detroit
area.
"We hope that you will let
your readers know about

AMONG THE BEST

bets for making eggs the
way you like them ... Eunice
Lewis ... mornings at Irv-
ing's Deli on Greenfield
north of 11 Mile.
THE MEYERSONS'
bullet logo ... as well as the
name Buddy's Bar-B-Que
live on with Arlyn and son
Mark Meyerson at their
West Bloomfield Plaza spot
on Orchard Lake and 15
Mile Rd.
Buddy's Bar-B-Que on
the east side of the center is
open seven days a week ...
seats 28 in a cute, intimate
atmosphere ... and has 1955
paintings on the wall of
Buddy and Mary Meyerson.
It's the same sauce recipe
from 12th St. and Clair-
mount in the early 1930s ...
same Trio salad from not too
many years back ... and Ar-
lyn's wife Hester makes the
same cheesecake with
pineapple on the bottom

from Mary's recipe.

The outside catering by
Arlyn has become a big
success ... making a lot of
folks happy with the food
and reasonable prices ...
They also sell a lot of
those three-foot long
submarine sandwiches
for 20-25 people.
Twice a week, Hester
makes some delicious choco-
late chip cookies, too.
Past few weeks, Arlyn
and Mark have been selling
pizza on a submarine roll ...
But last week they began
getting the regular dough
and are now serving small
and medium deep-dish-
square pizza.
Buddy's Bar-B-Que is
open Thursday-Saturday,
11 to 9, and Sunday 3 to 9.
DAVE WILBORN, last
of the McKinney Cotton
Pickers orchestra who used
to hit the jazz trail with
much jumping jive in the
days of yesteryears ... and
now lead vocal soloist with
the New McKinney Cotton
Pickers ... will be with the
group today at Northland ...
and Sunday at Somerset
Mall ... Both are free con-
certs.
HICKORY BAR-B-Q on
Northwestern and 12 Mile
now has two separaterotis-
serie ovens for its ribs ...
Either smoked or straight
can now be ordered.
HONEY TREE, owned
by Conny Efstathiou and
Tom Goulas, was originally
opened in September 1975,
as a Greek-American fam-
ily restaurant ... It is still a
fine family restaurant ...
but the seating has in-
creased to 180, expansion
coming with taking over of a
store next door to put in the
wall-mirrored cocktail
lounge for dining, drinking
and entertainment.
Appearing at the Honey
Tree piano is Jim Jewhurst.
