burger there? ... If you re-
member the Hamburger
Pancho served at London
Chop House downtown, Pat
Archer has the same Pan-
cho sauce recipe.
THEME FOR Michigan
Inn's Sunday brunches of
Nov. 8, 15, 22 and 29 will be
"Tis A Bountiful Fall
Brunch Fest!" ... The hotel's
elaborate brunch will be
highlighted each Sunday
with popular fall fruits and
vegetables prepared with
traditional American re-
cipes (how does pumpkin
pie, sweet corn bread and
baked apples sound for star-
ters?) ... Brunch hours are
from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
WHAT NEXT by Matt
Prentice at Deli Unique on
Greenfield just north of 10
Mile? ... This time we had
Beet Wellington ... while
another in our party had
Fresh Stuffed Brook Trout
en croute with pimento
sauce ... and another had
Chicken Scallopini Mar-
sala.
All are superb dishes you
would hardly find in a very
fine restaurant ... let alone a
delicatessen ... But then
again, this is no ordinary
delicatessen ... As the name
implies, it certainly is most
unique!
The Beef Wellington, a
filet mignon lightly topped
with chopped liver and
mushrooms and encased in
a delicate pastry puff, is a
fine dish ... as is the Stuffed
Brook Trout which, in the
way Matt makes it, can be
found only in the very finest
gourmet eateries ... the
whole fish stuffed with
crabmeat and encased in a
pastry puff ... You'll never
find this anywhere else for
$7.95, or the Beef Wel-
lington for $8.95.
All Matt's dinners are
complete ... First came
the fresh vegetables with
dip ... hot loaf of bread
with whipped butter and
chives ... Then I had ex-
tremely delicious caulif-
lower au gratin soup ...
Another had homemade
chicken noodle soup ...
Then a special baked
potato (potato scooped
out of its shell, whipped
and mixed with goodies,
put back in the shell and
baked), fresh vegetables
and dessert.
What Matt Prentice, who
loves culinary cooking, has
done with the old Northgate
Deli since he took over him-
self is absolutely amazing ...
His meals at Deli Unique
are the talk of the town ...
and at such low prices yet!
CHANGE TONIGHT
and tomorrow night has
guest headliner Marc
Weiner at Comedy Castle
downstairs in Maximilian's
an Woodward ... Marc ap-
pears on "Saturday Night
Live" but you can't recog-
nize him ... He's the fellow
behind those finger puppets
that appear on the show
weekly.
WAVELENGTH, a new
jazz-fusion group, is return-
ing to Hurley's in North-
field Hilton, Crooks and
