Day School Benefit Slated

An art auction to benefit
the Hebrew Day School of
Ann Arbor will be held 2
p.m. Nov. 15 at the Hillel
Foundation in Ann Arbor,
1429 Hill. A wine and
cheese preview will be held
at 1.
Dr. Albert Scaglione of

Park West Galleries will
conduct the auction.
More than 200 works will
be exhibited and offered for
sale. Among the items are
lithographs, etchings,
woodcuts, serigraphs and
paintings. All are framed
and ready to hang.
Artists whose works
will be displayed are:
Agam, Appel, Boulanger,
Braque, Calder, Chagall,
Dali, Friedlaender,
Maxwell, Vaserely and
more.
Admission is nominal. A
babysitter will be available.

Holocaust Essay
Contest Winners

LOS ANGELES — The
American Congress of Jews
from Poland and Survivors
of Concentration Camps has
announced second and third
place awards in its sixth
annual Holocaust essay
contest, but did not award a
first place prize.
Leah Esther Weil of Los
Angeles, a senior at UCLA,
was awarded second prize.
Lee Goldwasser of Wood-
land Hills, Calif., a
graduate student at
California State Univer-
sity, won third prize.

Are Unprofitable

TEL AVIV (JTA) — Offi-
cials of the Wingate Insti-
tute for Physical Education
and Sport in Netanya re-
cently dedicated the Moe
Berg Reference Room in the
institute's library.
Berg was a catcher for the
Boston Red Sox during and
