Germany has in no way
modified its position toward
Israel or changed its emig-
ration policy.
The official, who declined
to be identified, spoke in re-
sponse to reports published
in Israel of an East German,
Jewish family which was
allowed to leave for Israel.
The official refused to
comment as to whether the
authorities in East Berlin
have received applications
from Jewish families to
emigrate. There are about
800 registered Jews in East
Germany of whom about
500 live in East Berlin.

AMSTERDAM (JTA) —
Holland's Foreign Minister,
Max van der Stoel, said on
his return from President
Anwar Sadat's funeral in
Cairo, that the burden of
keeping the Egyptian-
Israeli peace process going
rests on Israel.
Van der Stoel warned in a
radio interview that "Israel
must unconditionally
adhere to the Camp David
agreements. If Israel does
not return the last part of
Sinai next April, then a
very serious situation will
arise."
The Dutch diplomat said
he was confident that
Egypt, under President
Hosni Mubarak will not
endanger the Camp David
agreements but he was not
so sure about Israel.
Israeli Publishers
Claim Success
at Frankfurt Fair
BONN (JTA) — Twenty-
five Israeli publishers were
represented at the week-
long Frankfurt Book Fair
which closed Tuesday.
There were 5,482 pub-
lishers from 85 countries
participating in what is a
major annual world event of
the publishing industry.
Israeli publishers said
that the fair was immensely
valuable from the commer-
cial viewpoint and as a
means of exchanging in-
formation with publishers
from many countries.

Wagner Protest
TEL AVIV — For the sec-
ond time in less than a week
angry outbursts from the
audience rocked Mann Au-
ditorium as the Israel
Philharmonic played a
work by composer Richard
Wagner.
Last week, fights and sh-
outs erupted from the audi-
ence as the orchestra, con-
ducted by Zubin Mehta,
played the prelude and
"Love Death" from
Wagner's "Tristan and
Isolde." On Sunday, Mehta
left the podium when an
outburst of protests again
was heard from the audi-
ence.
Wagner's music has been
unofficially banned in Is-
rael since 1938, before
statehood, because his
music was favored by Hitler
and the Nazis.

not asked to engage in any
discussions during the trip.
He denied a report that
while in Cairo for President
Anwar Sadat's funeral,
Nixon and Haig had disL
cussed the need to bring the
PLO into the peace talks.

ported in its Oct. -26 issue
that "the Reagan Adminis-
