Bnai Jacob Synagogue WASHINGTON (JTA) — The State Department Tuesday welcomed French President Francois Mit- terand's statement that France would be willing to participate in the multina- tional force that is to patrol the Sinai after Israel's final evacuation in April 1982. State Department De- puty spokesman Allan Romberg said that French participation would be a "significant contribution" to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO). Romberg refused to say whether the French gov- ernment had made this atti- tude officially known to the U.S., saying he was only commenting on the Mitter- rand interview. In a related development, Mitterrand said that he supports the peace pro- posals of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Fand because they "can open up dis- cussions" in the Middle East leading to peace in that area. The important point of the eight-point proposal by Fand is "recognition of all states in the area" which in- cludes Israel, Mitterrand said on the ABC-TV "Issues and Answers" program filmed in Paris before he left JERUSALEM (JNI) — Normally bustling shops and offices in Israel were An Evening of Musical Magic * STARRING * Nancy Gurwin & Company Directed & Narrated by Edgar A.
