Two of his targets were in the field of aviation. According to Nebenzahl, El Al's rehabilitation pro- gram, undertaken two years ago, is still in its in- fancy. He accused the na- tional air line of perpetuat- ing a number of abuses, such as free tickets for com- pany employees. . . . a return to sophisticated elegance in West Bloomfield n, Join our Navy for $12888 One of the outstanding values in our sport coat collection is our su- perbly tailored worsted navy blazer of unparalleled quality at a price within the most stringent budget. Cheysson Remark on Sadat Death Draws Angry Protest PARIS (JTA) — Foreign Minister Claude Cheysson has provoked a storm of pro- tests after he declared that Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's death "removes an obstacle to a rapprochement between Egypt and the Arab world." The minister, in a radio interview last week, said that such a rapprochement could lead to improved prospects for an overall peace settlement in the Middle East. deplored Cheysson Sadat's "tragic death" but seemed to imply that the Egyptian president's death could nonetheless serve the cause of peace as his suc- cessor could enable Egypt to return to the Arab fold. He said that peace could come only when all the Arabs, including Egypt, will negotiate with Israel for a lasting agreement. The Franco-Israeli Alliance called Cheysson's state-, ment "indecent and ab- surd." The mass circulation evening paper, France-Soit, termed the minister's dec- laration "mad and illogical" while the conservative morning paper, Le Figaro, stressed that Cheysson was "the first Western leader to find something positive in Sadat's assassination." Meanwhile, Joseph Low- ery, president of the South- ern Christian Leadership Conference, said the U.S. bears responsibility for the assassination of Anwar Sadat "because it encouraged policies that isolated him from the Arab world." We must not contradict, but instruct him that con- tradicts us; for a madman is not cured by another run- ning mad also.
