dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Dorfman and his father
survived the Holocaust by
hiding on a Polish farm. He
later served in the Polish
Division of the Russian
Army.

Dorfman found a
livelihood as a kosher
meat supplier to the dis-
placed persons camps.
When they were able, the
Dorfmans came to De-
troit, where today
Dorfman operates the
meat-packing firm of
Frederick and Herrud,
Inc..

He is active in communal
and - Zionist causes and
many organizations and in-
stitutions have presented
Dorfman with prestigious
awards in appreciation of
his endeavors, among them
ORT, Bnai Brith Youth, the
