Fresh Air Names Michael Zaks, Appoints 3 Assistant Directors

Samuel Marcus. Zaks is a
graduate of Cass Technical
High School and received
his degree in industrial
management and engineer-
ing from Lawrence Institute
of Technology. He con-
tinued his graduate studies
in management at Wayne
State University.
Zaks has been associated
with the Fresh Air Society
for the 15 years. He has
served as administrative
assistant, business man-
ager, assistant executive di-
rector and associate execu-
tive director.

ily camping concept, new
teen-age programs and in
recent years the major
change in the Jewish in-
flection of residential
camping programs of-
fered by the agency.
Zaks also serves as execu-
tive secretary of the
Tamarack Hills Authority
Named as assistant
executive directors are
Marvin Berman, Robert W.
Lipsitz and Leonard A.
Newman.
Dr. Berman will be the
new resident director of
Camp Tamarack at Orton-
ville. He received his docto-
rate in education at the
University of Michigan. In
addition to his summer re-
sponsibilities, Dr. Berman
will administer school and
week-end rental programs
of the Tamarack Hills Au-
thority at Ortonville.
Lipsitz is a graduate of
the School of Natural Re-
sources at Michigan
State University. He is
the purchasing agent for
the Fresh Air Society, di-
rects the Butzel Confer-
ence Center and the out-
door education program
at Ortonville.
Newman was named to
the position of resident di-
rector of Camp Tamarack at
Brighton and will also be in
WSU Hillel Plans
