The annual event marks the anniversary date of the Balfour Declaration issued by Britain in 1917 as a pledge "to facilitate the es- tablishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." Irving Laker, president, announced that proceeds from the program will pro- vide scholarships for disad- vantaged Israeli children to study at the Zionist Organi- zation of America's educa- tional campus in Kfar Silver, Israel, and sustain the organization's educa- tional and public relations programs locally and na- tionally. Miss Michaels is best remembered for her por- trayal of Fanny Brice in the national company of "Funny Girl" and her-fea- tured role in TV's "Kopykats." Her impres- sions of Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Dinah Shore are recog- nized worldwide. Edelman is a native of Lvov in the Ukraine, where he made his debut at age 10 with the local symphony or- chestra. Since then he had appeared with leading or- chestras in the Soviet Un- ion, and upon arrival in this country, has won the Young Concert Artists Interna- tional Auditions in 1979 and was named recipient of the first Baldwin Young Pianist Prize.
