Camp David Peace Process
Topic of Flint Federation
Meron Benvenisti, one-
time city councillor and de-
puty mayor of Jerusalem,
will speak at Cong. Beth Is-
rael 8 p.m. Oct. 25, in a
program sponsored by the
Community Relations
Committee of the Flint
Jewish Federation.
Benvenisti will discuss
"The Peace Process After
Camp David." The talk is
open to the community free
of charge.

Ruth L. Davis
Ruth L. Davis, co-owner
of Max Davis Jewelers, died
Sept. 28 at age 77.
Born in Lorain, Ohio,
Mrs. Davis lived in Flint
since 1909. She was a
member of Cong. Beth Is-
rael and its sisterhood,
Hadassah, Pilgrim Chapter
of the Order of the Eastern
Star and the old Flint High
School Association.
She is survived by a son,
Dr. Jerome of Detroit; a
daughter, Mrs. Bernard
(Arlene) Harris; three
brothers, Sam Bloomberg of
North Miami Beach, Fla.,
Morris Bloomberg and
Louis Bloomberg, both of
Southfield; two sisters, Mrs.
David (Helen) Mulne, Mrs.
F. E. (Zelma) Fivenson;
seven grandchildren and
one great-grandson.
Rita Berner
Rita Berner, a member of
Flint Jewish organizations,
died Oct. 1 at age 77.
A resident of Flint since
1965, Mrs. Berner was a
member of Cong. Beth Is-
rael and its sisterhood and
the Jewish Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three
sons, Dr. Gerald, Irving and
Robert of Saginaw; and
eight grandchildren.

Eve Press. a former Flint
and Bay City resident of
Boca Raton, Fla.. died Oct. 4
at age 71.

president of Hebrew
University students' as-
sociation and secretary-
general of the National
Union of Israeli students.
He also is author of sev-
eral publications. Ben-
venisti has a bachelor's de-
gree in economics from
Hebrew University and is a
candidate for a doctorate
degree in public administ-
ration from • Kennedy
School, Harvard Univer-
sity.

Mayor Edward Koch has
signed into a law a bill nam-
ing the spiral stairway at
the Isaiah Peace Wall oppo-
site the United Nations in
honor of Prisoner of Consci-
ence Anatoly Shcharansky.
the legislation was initiated
by the Student Struggle for
Soviet Jewry and was
adopted unanimously by
the city council last month.
