; THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Phyllis Beaver Is Chairman of Magen David Adorn Dinner Phyllis Beaver was named chairman of the an-. nual dinner-dance of the Michigan Region of the American Red Magen David for Israe' to be held 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Dr. John J. Mames, chairman of the Michigan Region, MDA, stated that the event will honor Mrs. Samuel (Miriam) Ham- burger. Mrs. Beaver is the president of Women's Committee of the Michigan Region of American Red Magen David for Israel and together with her husband Dr. Harvey A. Beaver they serve as officers of the Icoal chapter. They were instru- mental in securing funds and sponsoring a room at the Ashdod First Aid Center in honor of the 60th wed- ding anniversary of their grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Hankin of Baltimore. The Beavers are active members of Cong. National Council of Jewish Women, Women's Ameri- can ORT, Sinai Hospital Guild, Mizrachi Women, Hadassah (life member) and is a Hebrew teacher at Cong.
