JOSEPH HONET Dr. Honet was educated at Union College, Schenec- tady, N.Y., Albany Medical College and the University of Minnesota. He interned and later was assistant resident in Internaal Medicine at Albany Hospi- tal, Albany, N.Y. He also served as assistant resident in Internal Medicine at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albany. He completed his training in Physical Medicine and Re- habilitation at the Mayo Clinic in 1962. With the rank of Lt. Commander, Dr. Honet served as chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation' Depart- ment, U.S. Naval Hospi- tal, Oakland, Calif. After military service, he was appointed to the staffs of the University, Veteran's Administration, and King County hospitals, all in Seattle. He has held his present post of department chair- man at Sinai since 1967 and is also on the attending staffs of Detroit's Rehabili- tation Institute, Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, and Grace Hospital. For more than 20 years Dr. Honet has held teaching positions at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Department of Speech Communication and Theatre, and at Mercy College. The ecumenical service has been organized by representatives of the region's major faiths to highlight the International Year of Disabled Persons by raising the issues of physi- cally, mentally and emo- tionally handicapped per- sons sharing in worship. A hearing impaired children's choir will be featured. Rabbi Conrad, who is the spiritual leader of Temple Hot Arai in West Bloomfield, will present an opening message entitled "Earthen Ves- The Roman sels."
