Ala Cart is quickly dispel-

dinner there recently of
Veal Sicilian (breaded
milk-fed baby veal sauteed
in butter and wine sauce)
was among three veal dis-
hes in the 14 entrees that
also include five seafood
choices . . . Dinner was
served with a huge salad of
crisp lettuce and chunky
Blue Cheese dressing . .
and generous portion of
Fetucinni Alfredo.
Ala Cart now also looks
more like the French cafe it
was originally intended to
be . . . with low lighting,
candlelight and such very
important touches like the
fresh cut flowers on every

Among the first biggies at
Ala Cart was a wedding last
Sunday . . . both ceremony
and reception . . . with
Rabbi Sherwin Wine tying
the knot for very handsome
couple Cindy Schiff and
barrister Dale Gudenau.
If their life is as happy as
Curtis and Donna are being
the new owners of Ala Cart,

WHEN
ATTENDED the cocktail
party to review "Do Patent
Leather Shoes Really Re-
flect Up?" it was seemingly
for a show that would be
here only "a couple of
months" as Producer Dan
Golman then thought .
However, the musical com-
edy has turned out to be the
longest continuously run-
ning Broadway-bound show
ever to appear in Michigan,
and surpasses the record set
by "Annie" at the Fisher
Theater.
Exploring the joys and
sorrows of growing up, it
debuted March 28, and has
to date played before about
200,000 people.

Israel Faces
Another Strike

TEL AVIV (JTA) — Post
office engineers Monday si-
lenced all radio and televi-
sion programs apart from
brief news bulletins, and
educational television pro-
grams.
The engineers decided to
go on three days of what
they termed "organized va-
cations" to protest the re-
fusal of the ministry to pay
them promised bonuses for
extra work.
They claim that for the
past three years they have
stepped up the rate of new
telephone installations and
repair work.
No phone or telex repairs
were carried out during the
unofficial strike. The
engineers said they would
give formal notice of an ex-
tended strike to begin in two
weeks time.
